On behalf of Sean’s parents, we want to share an update on our beloved son, Sean Philbin, from Narragansett, Rhode Island. On Monday, December 15, Sean was seriously injured in a car accident that changed his life — and ours — in an instant.

Tragically, Sean lost both of his legs, and we now face a long and challenging journey of recovery alongside him. Sean is beginning an extensive process of healing that will involve multiple surgeries, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and ongoing medical care.

Despite the unimaginable trauma he endured, Sean displayed extraordinary strength, courage, and determination from the very first moments after the accident. He fought fiercely to survive, and his will to live is the reason we are still blessed to have him with us today. His resilience has been a profound inspiration to everyone around him.

We are deeply grateful for the incredible first responders who were there for Sean when it mattered most. Special thanks go to Trooper Jason Arborella of the Rhode Island State Police, who was first on the scene and whose quick actions were crucial in saving Sean’s life.

We are also profoundly thankful for the team at Rhode Island Hospital, whose compassion, skill, and dedication provided comfort and life-saving care during this traumatic time. While we never imagined we’d find ourselves in a position of asking for help, the financial impact of Sean’s medical care is significant.
